Season Over: Three Potential Portal Entries from the SEC

With the season over and the coach carousel in full swing, players are going to need to start deciding whether or not to hit the portal. In this article, we give you three of the likeliest offseason portal entries from the SEC.

1. LaNorris Sellars

Sellars is quite clearly one of the most obvious portal entries in years. While the numbers won't wow you, Sellars was forced to play behind one of the worst offensive lines in SEC history this season (the group allowed a whopping 37 sacks throughout the year) and was given minimal help on the outside with loads of injuries to key players. After a 4-8 abysmal season, expect the dual threat of Sellars to be a hot commodity in the portal.

Potential Landing Spots: Miami, Auburn, FSU, Syracuse

2. Michael Van Buren

The former Mississippi State and current LSU QB got his chance against Oklahoma after spending the majority of the season on the bench behind Garrett Nussmeier. However, the true sophomore did not play well and left loads to be desired for new HC Lane Kiffin. Expect Trinidad Chambliss to transfer into Baton Rouge and for Van Buren to transfer out. The sophomore has two years of starting experience in the SEC and would likely be a day-one starter if he were smart about his landing spot.

Potential Landing Spots: South Carolina, ASU, Mississippi State (return)

3. Austin Mack

The California native and former Husky, who followed Kalen DeBoer to Alabama, has not had his career play out the way he envisioned. After riding the bench behind Michael Penix for a year, Mack has spent the last two as Bama's third-string QB. With the emergence of true freshman backup QB Keelon Russell, who the Bama staff has been raving about, it seems like Mack is the odd man out. Expect a portal entry closer to home for Mack.
