SEC
Upset Watch: Florida at #5 Texas A&M

Why DJ Lagway and the Gators have the firepower to knock off undefeated Texas A&M in College Station.

This is sneakily a wonderful matchup. Florida has the chance to get back to .500 following an abysmal start to the year and build for the future with the group’s extremely young team. A&M, on the other hand, has the chance to start the season 6-0 for the first time in years and cement itself as a true contender thanks to its portal-busy offseason. This is an identity game for both squads and a homecoming for DJ Lagway, playing in his home state of Texas, where I expect another Gators upset.
Texas A&M’s early-season victory against Notre Dame has clouded the team’s obvious flaws. This Aggies team lacks the defensive firepower needed to stop SEC offenses. Despite losing the game, the fact that Notre Dame was able to put 30+ against A&M in the two teams’ early-season matchup should be worrisome enough against a Florida offense that has really meshed well and found its identity following the return of freshman superstar WR Dallas Wilson. I expect DJ Lagway to push the ball downfield against a mid-tier A&M secondary, and expect the Gators’ D-line to pressure as they did against Texas last week.
They may not have homefield advantage, but the Gators have the momentum and offensive firepower to pull off another upset in College Station tomorrow night.
Writer’s Prediction: 23-20 Florida Victory
