MVP: Three of the ACC's Most Valuable Players

The ACC has been close to the complete opposite of what we expected from the conference preseason. UNC and Clemson have struggled mightily while Georgia Tech and Miami have shone. In this article, we highlight the three most valuable players in the ACC landscape to start the year.

3. Malachi Toney

It's impossible to leave out “baby Jesus” after Toney's elite 2 TD performance against FSU last weekend. Toney has been reliable all year as a 17-year-old freshman in the slot for Miami and is the main reason for the group's early-season victories against Notre Dame and FSU. Toney is elite and has benefited greatly from the addition of Carson Beck. Malachi Toney is a future first-round pick.

2. Haynes King & Jamal Haynes

I warned everyone who would listen, preseason, before the Colorado game, that Georgia Tech was elite. Now, however, the world sees it. The backfield duo of Haynes King and Jamal Haynes has propelled the Jackets to an undefeated start and has cemented the group as ACC contenders. This GT backfield is elite and could make noise against Georgia to end the year in a potential upset.

1. The Entire Miami D-line

Miami's d-line is truly elite for the first time in years. Led by future first-rounders and former five stars such as Reuben Bain and Justin Scott, the group has amassed a whopping 36 sacks through 6 games (6 sacks a game) and has done so against elite teams such as Notre Dame, Florida, and Florida State. The U is back, and it is because of the Hurricanes' elite defensive line.
